Epilogue

January 27th, we met him. March 3, he moved in. July 31st, he became ours forever. 

We cannot believe how the Lord has blessed us. Our boy is kind, and he's funny, he's caring, and he's smart. I just put him back in bed after giving him the drink and snuggles that he asked for and I am amazed at how much I love him. He may not have grown in my body, but he is my boy - my son. He is my heart. 

It's been a whirlwind of a year for us. A year of seeing Gods promises be fulfilled, it's been a year of prayer as we started a new journey. 

I'm a little emotional writing this, because of how the Lord has used this blog to give me a place to be honest, a place to be encouraged, a place to make new friends, and a place for me to be able to look back and see how He was faithful. He always saw me.  Even when it seemed I was sitting the in corner of the basement waiting room by myself, where all I could see was cobwebs. (Thank you, SV for those words). Our journey was hard and re-reading the hurt still brings me to tears. But, I'm so thankful we waited for His leading because Mike and I can't imagine a life without our sweet and handsome little man. 

But it's time to end this blog. Our adoption journey ended the second that gavel hit. And now it is not just Mike and I's story - it's his too. And we want to give him the room and time he needs to tell it. God is going to continue to do great and mighty things, of that we are sure. 

Friends, (and here come the waterworks), thank you. Thank you for being my support and my voice of reason when all I saw was chaos and all I felt was lonely. Thank you for your prayers and for your love. Thank you for rejoicing with us. You will never truly know how you have impacted me. 

Dedication is September 10, and afterwards we are having a party. To celebrate "The VanDrie Three". I would love it if each of you could come. Can you? I want you to meet our miracle - our promise. Our dedication passage and the verses we have chosen to pray over our boy is from Ephesians 3, and may it be so for all of us as well. 
16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
